Today was a bit strange.

Phew. Another one of those “hardest on the trail” days.

Today was almost a zero day - We woke up to a chilly morning, and Yair took off to Ridgecrest to return his rental car. We were hoping he’d have good luck hitching back.

Today was a good day - I slept well during the night, and we managed to pack up quickly and head out early at 7:15. We had a long climb to start our day, but we were done with it fast enough, and started the long long descent to Manter Creek. The trail just went down and down along the ridge, and every time we turned a corner, there was more descending trail ahead of us. It took forever. And the day started getting really hot. Finally, we reached the creek at about 11:00, and ate some snacks. The water didn’t seem too good, so I filled up 1 liter, and didn’t bother to filter it. I figured I’d carry it just in case I’d run out of water, and only filter it then.

Today we had quite a day. It was exceptionally hot, and we had a lot of climbing to do.
