I think we had the coldest night yet. With my new sleeping pad, I didn’t suffer that much under my quilt, but my face were exposed and cold during the night. I kept turning to sleep on my side, so I’d have a bit more quilt to cover my head as well. It was cold, but we survived.

After a good night’s sleep on real beds, we got up and started arranging our packs.

Today we had a short day, finally, into Vermilion Valley Resort (VVR). We pushed a bit more in the last few days just to make today shorter, since we wanted to get to Edison Lake early enough to catch s boat ride across it to the resort. Otherwise we’d have had to hike 5 more miles around it.

The longest day in the Sierras. In the morning we got up a bit early again, and were on the trail at 6:30. Idan doesn’t like it, but we need it if we want to do more miles.

What a night. I don’t know what time it was, but I started feeling a bit chilly around my neck, so I took my headlamp and searched for my neck buff. It wasn’t in the tent. In fact, I noticed that neither were my hat and gloves. I usually take all of those items off as soon as I get to camp, so I figured I just left them outside before setting up my tent, and forgot to take them in.
